Loaves & Fishes Report
After 20 incredible years of giving her heart and soul to the community, Nancy Wiersum, Executive Vice President of Advancement at Loaves & Fishes, is retiring. For those of us who have been fortunate enough to work alongside Nancy, her impact goes beyond her accomplishments; it’s her love for people and her passion for lifting others up that truly define her legacy.
Nancy has always been driven by a desire to change lives. At Loaves & Fishes, she has been integral to our mission, tirelessly working to ensure that families in need not only have food on their tables but also hope in their hearts. Her dedication has been a guiding force, helping us grow and thrive as an organization committed to making a real difference.
What makes Nancy so special is her genuine love for connecting with people. She has a natural ease and confidence in engagement, never hesitating to make a meaningful connection – whether she’s catching up with a donor, brainstorming with colleagues, or lending a kind ear to a client. Through these relationships, she has built bridges that strengthened not just Loaves & Fishes, but our entire community.

Nancy’s generosity of spirit has extended far and wide. From her work with NCTV17 to the Robert Crown Center (Candor Health Education), 360 Youth Services, and of course, Loaves & Fishes, she has shared her talents and left a lasting mark on every organization she touched.
As we say goodbye to Nancy in her professional role, we do so with full hearts. Her legacy will live on in the lives she’s changed and the countless relationships she’s nurtured. While officially retiring, we know her community involvement will continue, including volunteering at Loaves & Fishes. Nancy, thank you for everything. We wish you nothing but joy, peace, and new adventures in your well-deserved retirement!
