City of Naperville Public Information Office Report
A two-month-long Naperville Police investigation into alleged crack-cocaine sales in Naperville culminated Jan. 14 with the arrest of Deonte Bell, 23, of the 3800 block of Grenshaw Street in Chicago, IL.
Members of the Naperville Police Department’s Special Operations Group arrested Bell after he allegedly sold cocaine within Naperville’s jurisdiction on two occasions. At the time of his arrest, he was allegedly in possession of more than one but less than 15 grams of cocaine as well as a loaded semi-automatic handgun.

Bell was charged with one count of Armed Violence, a Class X felony, for being in possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony. He is also charged with two felony counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Bell was later transported to the DuPage County Jail.
The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
