I recently connected with newlyweds Katie and Nathan Black who planned the wedding of their dreams this past summer in Naperville. Growing up nearby and working in Naperville, the couple knew the area’s amenities and that it would make an amazing backdrop for their wedding.
The weekend kicked off with a rehearsal dinner in one of Meson Sabika’s private rooms, where the wonderful food and service got the celebrations off to a great start.
The Blacks embraced Katie’s love of all things pink with a “Bridgerton meets Barbie” themed wedding at Naper Settlement’s Century Memorial Chapel. String instruments carried contemporary sounds fusing classic and new, and a gelato cart from Sweet Home Gelato kept the guests cool with a sweet treat.
Pictures were taken in downtown Naperville at iconic backdrops following the ceremony, and the celebration continued with an unforgettable reception at the Hotel Arista, chosen for its incredible service and luxurious feel.
Katie “loved their creativity and attention to detail” and appreciated that “the event staff was amazing to work with, understood our vision, and had excellent suggestions.”
The convenience of guests staying at the hotel was an immediate selling point for the Blacks, along with its elegance, amenities and focus on service, “we could see what a nice experience an Arista stay would be for our guests.”
The Blacks also were drawn to Arista’s terrific dining options. Self-described “foodies,” they loved the ability to customize their event menu. Having a private consultation with the chef to create their menu was a highlight of their planning process.
A signature mocktail, DeEtta’s cake, music-synced wristbands, and countless pink touches tailored the event to the couple.
“We had so much fun planning our wedding,” recalls Katie, “…truly the best day ever!”
It was a day to remember for the Blacks and their guests.
