The holidays are fast approaching and if you’re looking for new ideas for your home decorating, here’s an event for you!
The Naperville Garden Club is hosting our Cup of Cheer™ Home Tour, Holiday Market and Tea from 9AM to 4PM on Thurs., Dec. 5 and Fri., Dec. 6. Four homes are decorated for the holidays and this year, two of the homes are next door to each other. One of the homes may be the largest home in Naperville – 14,000 square feet!
After almost thirty years as a member of the Naperville Garden Club, I sometimes think that I’ve seen everything that could possibly be put in a home for the holidays, but every year, I am impressed with new creations that grace these homes. You will be, too.
At the Holiday Market, ticket holders will receive a commemorative teacup and saucer or mug and enjoy cookies, home baked by our members. On Friday, an ensemble from the Elmhurst Choral Union will be performing from 11AM to 1PM. You will enjoy shopping – for your own home or holiday gifts for teachers, hostesses, family, etc.
For the first time, we will be selling potted amaryllis that should be in bloom for the holidays. There’s something for everyone. From a new wreath for your front door to stocking stuffers, you’ll find it here.
Our members have been creating decorative boxes and decoupaging holiday plates that will add a fresh, new element to your holiday decorations. Each ticket-holder will receive a raffle ticket for the door prize (a Santa-themed basket) and you may want to purchase raffle tickets for the other baskets and gifts. Winners need not be present to win. The drawings are on Friday at the close of the event.
Tickets are on sale at Baird & Warner Realtors (836 W. 75th Street), John Greene Realtors (SW Corner of Rt. 59 and Montgomery Road) and The Growing Place (Naperville location only, 25w471 Plank Road). Tickets are also available on our website www.napervillegardenclub.org.
Tickets are $60 for Thursday – no waiting in line at the homes, first choice of teacup or mug (we ran out last year) and first shopping at the Holiday Market. Friday tickets are $45. The Holiday Market is open to the public on Friday afternoon.
Proceeds help the Naperville Garden Club fund projects in the Naperville area – gardening projects, programs open to the public to educate about conservation, gardening, floral design, etc., and to provide scholarships to local students.
