An eight-month-long investigation into alleged drug sales in Naperville culminated Nov. 14, 2024, with the arrest of Alfonso Peregrino-Becerra of the 100 block of S. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora, IL.
Naperville detectives arrested Peregrino-Becerra in a parking lot located in the 1900 block of W. Jefferson Ave. Peregrino-Becerra was allegedly in possession of 29.6 grams of suspected cocaine at the time of his arrest, and a search of his vehicle revealed an additional 50.1 grams of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle.
Detectives also allegedly located a loaded Springfield Hellcat 9mm handgun under the driver’s seat.
Peregrino-Becerra was charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon / Armed Violence, a Class X felony; one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver, a Class X felony; and two counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance, both Class X felonies. Peregrino-Becerra was later transported to the DuPage County Jail.
The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
