Brats at Kreger’s / 10AM to 3PM Fridays and Saturdays at Kreger’s Brat and Sausage Haus – 606 N. Ellsworth Naperville, IL 60563 / Stop by for lunch, conversation and camaraderie. Enjoy Every Day at Quigley’s Irish Pub / Quigley’s Irish Pub is located at 43 E. Jefferson Ave in downtown Naperville / Quigley’s Irish Pub features live music Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The pub also offers a variety of spaces for all types of special events and fundraisers. Meanwhile, stop by for honest pub fare and a cold pint in the cool pub EDAQ, Every Day at Quigley’s. Wentz Concert Hall is located in the North Central College Fine and Performing Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Avenue, just steps from downtown Naperville. Think dinner before the show.

Music: North Central College Department of Music presents Sonata-Sonatina Festival Faculty Recital / 7:30PM / North Central College’s newest violin faculty member, Eric Gratz, former concertmaster of the San Antonio Symphony, will perform a selection of violin sonatas and sonatinas with one of our piano faculty members, Susan Chou. The program will consist of Schubert’s “Violin Sonatina in A minor, D.385,” Brahms’s “Violin Sonata in A major, Op. 100” and Ravel “Violina Sonata No. 2, M. 77” on stage at Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Naperville Riverwalk Quarry / Dusk /  Moser Tower is aglow with red, white and blue to reflect Veterans Day on November 11. From the top of Rotary Hill to the Paddleboat Quarry Rentals (soon-to-be Santa’s Workshop) to the Farmers Plaza, the image after dark of Moser Tower with the 72-bell carillon strikes a chord of appreciation for community spirit and all who have served. God bless, America! 

Visit the Riverwalk Farmers Plaza along Eagle Street to reflect on the red, white and blue that illuminates Moser Tower for Veterans Day on Mon., Nov. 11. Remember to pause at “11-11-11” on Monday. A brief observance also is planned at 11AM in Veterans Park along Gartner Road. Music beginning at 10:45AM will be played by members of the Naperville Municipal Band. Everyone is welcome. Rumba Sunday Brunch at AltaVida / 10AM to 3PM / Housed in a 10,000 square-foot, multilevel complex at 16 W. Jefferson Ave., AltaVida features three distinctive floors, unveiling the sights, sounds, and tastes of sensational cultural expression with inspired music, food and drink of Barcelona, Havana, Old San Juan, Guadalajara, Buenos Aires, and Rio de Janeiro. AltaVida is open daily.

Happy 249th Birthday to the U.S. Marine Corps / 1PM / Annual flag raising in tribute to all who serve will be held at the Riverwalk Veterans Plaza along Jackson Avenue between Webster and Main streets. The Naperville Honor Guard led by Commander Jim Oftedal will perform during the brief ceremony with a Bugler and five Riflemen. All are welcome. Semper Fidelis, Latin for “always faithful,” is the motto of the Marines.  (Note the time change to early afternoon.)

Reserve a Table at Mesón Sabika / 11:30AM to 9PM – Almost Any Day / Find a choice in dining rooms and private spaces at Mesón Sabika to sample Spanish tapas and delicious sangria for lunch and dinner every day. Located just west of downtown Naperville at 1025 Aurora Avenue, Mesón Sabika has been serving the community since 1990. Every day… Dine Naperville!

Did you know? Downtown Naperville features plenty of other things to do all month. Take a stroll to discover all that’s new and coming soon while the final touches to the new streetscape take shape.

This weekend, the Rotary Club of Naperville-Sunrise and high school Interact Clubs are volunteering to turn Water Street into a spectacular holiday display of lights, music and magic beginning at Main Street and running toward Jaycees Park along the Riverwalk. When complete, NaperLights will accent all the tiny bright white lights throughout downtown Naperville all during the holiday season.

Of course, it’s never too early to mark your calendar for the downtown Naperville parade with all the bright ideas about the community when Santa comes to town. Local Special Olympians will serve as Grand Marshals for the annual Parade of Lights set to begin at 7PM Fri., Nov. 29. Everybody’s welcome to come early to discover all the sights as well as places to shop and enjoy dinner. Happy holidays!

Veterans Day is Mon., Nov. 11 / 11AM / The observance at Veterans Park, 303 E. Gartner Road, begins with music by the Naperville Municipal Band at 10:45AM. Wherever you stand at 11AM, however, pause for a moment to honor those Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, Guardians, and Coast Guardsmen who have served this nation in war and peace. Remember on this day especially to express gratitude for all individuals who have risked everything to help keep us safe. Thank you.
