Last month, I again walked in the Jaycees Last Fling Labor Day Parade with Loaves & Fishes.
It’s such a slice of wholesome Americana and I always feel so grateful to be living in such a vibrant community. As we walked along, I was struck by the various people who called out, waved, and even clapped. Many shouted, “Thank you, Loaves & Fishes!” We shouted back, “Thank YOU!”
As we celebrate our 40th Anniversary, we are so well aware that it is our community who has made that possible. Over the years, as we have grown and evolved, compassionate people wanting to make a difference have stepped up right along with us.
Maybe it’s as a volunteer, or perhaps as a donor. It could be that you’re one that quietly drops off food to be distributed. Whatever role you have played in helping Loaves & Fishes meet the swelling need, we are grateful.
Two years ago, when food inflation soared so quickly, we saw a dramatic spike in the number of families needing help. Now, we are serving nearly 10,000 people every week. And each day that we distribute food, we are giving out 15-20 tons of healthy groceries.
So, as we observe our milestone year, we want to personally say thank you.
From 2–4PM on November 15, 2024, we’re inviting you to join us for an Open House so we can do just that. It will be held at the Frank J. Rus & Donald S. Toy Food Market & Resource Center located at 1871 High Grove Lane in Naperville.
As we look back over the past 40 years, the community’s support has been a constant source of hope. Whether you volunteer, support us financially, collect food for us, share our story, or engage your friends in our work, we are deeply grateful. Together, we are bringing the vital Loaves & Fishes mission to life. I sincerely hope you reserve the afternoon of November 15 for a stop at our Open House. I just can’t wait to say thank you!
