Since its founding in 1899, the VFW has been “a beacon of hope and assistance for millions of veterans and their families,” according to Al Lipphardt, Commander-in-Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), in his celebratory message on Sept. 29, 2024.
For 125 years, VFW membership has fought for the rights, recognition and benefits that they earned and deserve, Lipphardt continued. The VFW stands united in its mission of advocacy, service, camaraderie and honoring all individuals who have sacrificed so much for this nation’s freedom.
While taking Jackson Avenue west from Eagle Street, note the commemorative street signs that honor the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873, located at 908 W. Jackson.
