In September, Naperville Central High School celebrated receiving the National Blue Ribbon Award from the U.S. Department of Education. Naperville Central as well as Scott Elementary in School District 203 and Neuqua Valley High School in School District 204, were among the 18 schools in Illinois chosen for this honor in 2024.
The award recognizes these schools’ outstanding academic achievement and commitment to exceptional education. As a student currently attending NCHS, I can testify to the numerous academic opportunities offered at NCHS.
Take, for example, the number of Advanced Placement courses offered. Advanced Placement (AP) classes are high school classes that are considered to be of the same rigor as college classes. While the average school offers only 10 AP courses according to the National Center for Education Statistics, NCHS offers a total of 24 AP courses.
NCHS does its best to prepare its students for the next part of their lives, and giving us a leg up on college readiness is just one of the many ways it does so.
The teachers at NCHS are amazing and put their everything into each of their students and classes. Without their instruction, my school wouldn’t be the academic marvel that it is today, and I definitely wouldn’t be the same student.
Rohan Jain, a fellow student at NCHS, adds, “I’m very proud of our educators, they work extremely hard to make our education the best that it can be… we have one of the best in the country, and I am extremely grateful for the education I am able to receive.”
