At 3:36AM on Thurs., Sept. 12, the Naperville Emergency Communication Center (ECC) received a call for the structure fire in a single-family, two-story home located in the 1200 block of Haverhill Circle.
Naperville ECC dispatched a general alarm assignment consisting of 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 24 personnel including an Incident Commander and Incident Safety Officer to the reported address. While companies were enroute, the resident reported a lot of smoke and that the deck was on fire.
At 3:44AM, the first vehicle arrived on scene and found fire in the rear of the residence on an attached deck to the home.
Fire companies ensured all occupants were out of the home and then quickly deployed a hose line to the rear of the residence. At 3:50AM, the fire was reported as out, and overhaul being performed. Fire companies remained on the scene another hour to ensure all hot spots were extinguished. The fire was primarily contained to the exterior of the home.
The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Naperville Police, Electric department, and Transportation and Engineering Department.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were no injuries to any occupants or firefighters while operating on scene. The building was deemed to be habitable with
an estimated damage of $60,000.
