Naperville Noon Lions Report

Registration is now open for the Naperville Noon Lions 27th Annual Turkey Trot 5K run/walk. This popular Thanksgiving Day tradition begins at 8AM at Naperville Central High School. To register go to www.napervilleturkeytrot.com. All runners and walkers are invited to celebrate their accomplishment after the 5K by joining us for a delicious breakfast generously donated by Belgio’s Catering at the high school.

The Turkey Trot has enabled the Lions to help provide more than 4,000 Naperville children and families with vision, hearing and diabetes care they otherwise could not afford. In addition, the proceeds are used to support charities that benefit individuals in the Naperville area.

Partnering with the Fry Family YMCA

“The Fry Family YMCA and YMCA Safe ‘n Sound program parents were so happy to help the Lions Club with supporting Families Helping Families. Members and Summer Day Camp families donated needed supplies to help those in our community,” said Erika Wood, Executive Director at the Fry Family Y, pictured here with Lions Jason Lancaster and Jane Bowers.

The Naperville Noon Lions support Families Helping Families to provide household products such as paper goods, cleaning supplies and personal care items that are not available through food pantries nor covered by food stamps. This summer the Fry Family YMCA partnered with the Lions to collect items for families in need.

Want to Give Back to the Community and Have Fun?

The Lions meet the first four Tuesdays of each month at noon for a luncheon meeting at Pomegranate Restaurant, 55 S. Commons Drive in Aurora, IL.

“We always welcome guests to join us for lunch and learn more about opportunities to help,” said Tom Garvey, Naperville Noon Lions Membership/Dues Chair.
