Four seats up to serve Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners, Petition Packets Now Available

Kindly note… The seven-member Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners meets together twice a month at Fort Hill Activity Center. Commissioners also serve various committees. Petition packets for the 2025 Naperville Park District Board of Park Commissioners election became ready for pickup by interested park board candidates beginning Friday, August 16, 2024. Packets may be picked up from 9AM to 4PM, Monday through Friday at the Park District Administration Building located at 320 W. Jackson Avenue at the desk of Monika Solomacha, Executive Administrative Assistant/Local Election Official.

Four positions will be up for election on April 1, 2025; newly elected commissioners will serve four-year terms.

Individuals who wish to run for a seat on the board must be at least 18 years of age and a Naperville Park District resident for at least one year prior to the election.

Rhonda Ansier, Mary Gibson, Leslie Ruffing, and Alison Thompson hold the four board positions that will expire in April 2025. Chris Jacks, Rich Janor and John Risvold were elected in 2023 to serve through 2027.

A few important notes to potential candidates

The minimum number of signatures required is 644.

Office hours for petition packet filing will be 8:30AM to 4:30PM, November 12, 13, 14, 15 and 8:30AM to 5PM on November 18, 2024. 

The Park District makes these packets available as a matter of convenience, but candidates are solely responsible for complying with all requirements of the law concerning their candidacy and are therefore encouraged to consult an attorney prior to circulating petitions and before filing for any office.
