Every Day… Dine Naperville!

Downtown Naperville continues to be “abuzz” with its summer sculptures that include ladybugs, caterpillars, snails and, of course, honeybees. Do you still have DNA Gift Certificates? Remember to use them before forgetting all about them. Think breakfast, lunch or dinner at a downtown eatery and a tour of outdoor public art. (PN File Photo)

Copies of the August issue of PN are available at more than 25 locations. Thanks to local businesses that provide space for PN racks. Your PN editors, designers and techies keep busy as bees with high hopes of replenishing distribution racks as they empty. Again, thanks for reading and for catching someone reading PN, too!

It’s a tradition! The band plays on during the Thursday evening summer concert series. Be a good sport! Wear spirit wear that represents your school for the final summer concert on Aug. 15.  Did you know? Green and gold were not the Green Bay Packers original colors. Packers’ founder Earl Curly Lambeau’s team at first wore blue and gold, colors of Notre Dame when he played for the Irish.

Naperville Municipal Band performs at 7:30PM Thursdays thru August 15

Note the schedule for the 2024 Naperville Municipal Band Summer Concert Series at 7:30PM Thursdays in Central Park, now through August 15, is available on page 4 of the August publication and also at www.napervilleband.org.  All NMB concerts are free of charge.

Come early to downtown Naperville for dinner before the show. Or plan a family picnic with friends and neighbors. Order take-out from a downtown eatery. Concerts run between 60 and 90 minutes. Park benches await. Or BYO collapsible chair or blanket. Be part of the large audience! Enjoy the musical tradition that dates back to 1859.

Note! NMB Big Band performs jazz, swing and toe-tapping sounds on Aug. 8, followed with “School Days,” on Aug. 15, the final NMB concert of the summer series.
