Yard waste collection now in progress thru Tues., July 23, 2024

The City of Naperville updated its website with info pertaining to Monday evening’s storm and response.

Thank you to the City for updating the website (linked above) to reflect changes and the anticipated timeframe and priority process for tree debris removal through the end of the day on Tues., July 23, 2024. No stickers or bags are required during this time period.

Bundles of branches (no more than 3 inches in diameter x 4 feet long) are preferred for ease of handling and collection. Kindly follow all yard waste requirements listed at www.naperville.il.us/yardwaste.

Friday

Centennial Beach / 11AM / Now open daily for building sandcastles, swimming, volleyball, adult floats (9AM Saturday and Sunday), relaxing under the trees and fond memories. Since 1931, families have found summertime fun at 500 W. Jackson Avenue! Daily Admission / Youth: Resident $8 / Nonresident $14; Adult: Resident $10 / Nonresident $16; After 5PM: Resident $5 / Nonresident $8.

Brats at Kreger’s / 10AM to 3PM Fridays and Saturdays at Kreger’s Brat and Sausage Haus – 606 N. Ellsworth Naperville, IL 60563 / Stop by for lunch, conversation and camaraderie. Let Bill know that you know his wurst is the best, especially for weekend grilling this season and plans for upcoming get-togethers.

How do fish measure up at Whalon Lake, located off Royce Road? The Will County Forest Preserve offers access to shoreline fishing on its 80-acre lake. Whalon Lake is stocked with bluegill, black crappie, largemouth bass, channel catfish and walleye.

For the best game in town, stop by to see Treasures Ladybug outside and Treasures’ jugglers inside! Come on downtown to enjoy the annual summer sculpture display in between lunch and dinner and all the bargains as retailers make room for fall merchandise. Other days, meander through town to enjoy the permanent Century Walk exhibit of public art, too.

Naperville Municipal Band performs at 7:30PM Thursdays thru August 15

Note the schedule for the 2024 Naperville Municipal Band Summer Concert Series at 7:30PM Thursdays in Central Park, now through August 15, is available on page 4 of the July publication and also at www.napervilleband.org.  All NMB concerts are free of charge. Plan a family picnic with friends and neighbors. Order take-out from a downtown eatery. Concerts run between 60 and 90 minutes. Park benches await. Or BYO collapsible chair or blanket. Be part of the large audience! Come enjoy the musical tradition that dates back to 1859.
