Naperville Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research steps off today, July 14, from Riverwalk Grand Pavilion

Saturday afternoon folks from the Lustgarten Foundation located in Woodbury, New York, about 60 miles north of New York City, were setting up, ready with orange t-shirts for volunteers and purple t-shirts for walkers Sun., July 14.

Updated Post, 9AM / Pictured below with organizer Jen Tedrow, Patrick Elwood, co-anchor for WGN Midday News, welcomed folks to the Riverwalk Pavilion and reported that the walk is about ready to go, rain or shine, at 9:30AM.

Earlier Post, 6AM / The 15th Annual Lustgarten Foundation Naperville Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research is set to step off at 9:30AM today, Sun., July 14, 2024, from the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion.

On the hot, humid and sunny Saturday afternoon, folks from the Lustgarten Foundation were assembling the stage, tents and other event features for the walk expected to attract dozens of teams with hundreds of participants on Sunday.

Simply Put…

WHAT & WHERE: Lustgarten Foundation Naperville Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research features 1.5 and 2.5 mile routes beginning and ending at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, 912 Honorary Sindt Memorial Court.

WHEN: Check-in begins at 8:30AM Sun., July 14, 2024.

Opening Ceremony at 9AM / Walk Kick-off at 9:30AM.

WHY: Pancreatic cancer is the third-leading cause of cancer-related death in the U.S. with an overall survival rate of just 13%. According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 66,440 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2024. 100% of donations fund pancreatic cancer research.

Lustgarten Foundation’s Naperville Walk

Again, Lustgarten Foundation’s Naperville Walk provides survivors, patients, friends and families a day of hope, remembrance and action. Participate as a team or an individual to help raise funds for the goal of $150,000 locally.

This annual walk has grown step by step year after year, always providing news of recent advances in research along with a community of support for many people affected by pancreatic cancer. 

“We also have a 50/50 Raffle and  several community partners joining us, including Ulta Beauty who is back with their popular Raffle,” said organizer of the Naperville walk, Jen Tedrow, noting that cash is preferred to participate in raffles.
