Diveheart: Stories from the Heart – Patent Pending

-

I never thought that I’d be a patent holder, but believe it or not Diveheart, the pioneering nonprofit organization that I founded in 2001, dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through adaptive scuba therapy, has given me the opportunity to announce the receipt of our third patent for the innovative 150 ft. deep warm water therapy pool design. This milestone marks a significant advancement in Diveheart’s mission to bring the therapeutic benefits of deep open water scuba to the Midwest, making it accessible to everyone.

I’m hoping that the Diveheart Education and Research Facility will be a world-class aquatic facility and worldwide destination that will house this truly unique therapy pool. The facility aims to offer unprecedented opportunities for physical and psychological healing, training, rehabilitation and research. With its unprecedented and unique specialized design, the pool will replicate the benefits of open water for our participants, providing a safe and controlled environment for individuals of all abilities.

Our capital campaign for the Diveheart Education and Research Facility kicked off in February 2024. And now we are actively seeking influencers, fundraisers, sponsors and donors to support this ambitious project. The community’s involvement is crucial to transforming this dream, years in the making, into a reality. It took six years to acquire the patents on the pool design. Who knew!

Securing this patent is a monumental step forward for Diveheart. Our vision is to create a state-of-the-art facility that will make the therapeutic benefits of scuba diving available to everyone, regardless of their physical or cognitive abilities. I’m inviting the world to join Diveheart in this transformative journey. Right now we’re searching for angels who can help make this dream come true.

I’d love for you to share our information on how to contribute to the Diveheart facility fundraising campaign or to learn about the therapeutic benefits of scuba diving. I hope you’ll check out and share the facility landing page or contact me at jim.elliott@diveheart.org.

If this is your first time meeting Diveheart, we’re a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing and supporting educational scuba diving and scuba therapy experiences for children, adults and veterans with disabilities. Founded in 2001, Diveheart aims to instill confidence, independence and self-esteem in the lives of its participants through adaptive scuba and scuba therapy.
