On May 28, 2024, at approximately 1:25AM, Naperville Police Officers responded to the 2600 block of Blakely Lane for the report of a residential burglary that had just occurred. Residents reported to responding officers that they heard noises downstairs and went to investigate, which is when they found the garage service door partially open and a key fob missing from the mudroom.
The initial investigation revealed that someone broke into a vehicle in the driveway, took the garage door opener from inside the vehicle and used it to open the garage. The offender then entered the residence through the garage service door and stole car keys from the mudroom, which is located just inside the service door from the garage.
Responding officers located a person of interest walking nearby and allegedly located burglary tools and burglary proceeds on his person. Connor S. Cichy, 19, of the 1000 block of Ravendale Court in Naperville, was arrested and is charged with Residential Burglary, a Class 1 felony, and Burglary, a Class 3 felony.
The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
