From Valentine’s Day to American Heart Month, there’s a lot to celebrate as we dive into a heart-conscious February! Here at the Fry Family YMCA, we have some exciting updates to kick off a month of love and community.
If you haven’t already heard, the Fry Family Y’s newly improved pool is open for community use! We spent the last few weeks of 2023 deep cleaning and upgrading the space, including installing a new dehumidification system, painting the walls and swim lanes, polishing stainless steel, and so much more — all to ensure that everyone has an amazing experience.
And there’s no better time to take full advantage of the Fry Family Y’s heated pool and fantastic aquatic offerings than during the Naperville winter. Not only does swimming offer a full body workout to get your heart pumping, but taking a few laps can also help manage stress and boost your mood (a huge plus as the days get colder and grayer)! We offer a variety of swim lessons for all ages and stages; amazing aquatic workout classes; and open swim when anyone can dive on in. We also have Swim League for youth, where we prepare for the summer competitive season.

Our friends, neighbors and future members (that could be you!) can explore Y programs, discover the benefits of a membership, meet our fantastic staff, and tour the facility. If you can’t make it, don’t worry, it’s a safe bet that we’ll have another before the next Leap Day!
Beginning next month, the Fry Family Y will proudly partner with the State of Illinois to deliver the Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship Program at the Fry Family YMCA! Participants will gain important skills in preparation to qualify for certified apprenticeship programs in construction trades. Classes will be in the evening and on Saturdays.
