Things to do around Naperville this weekend: February 2-4



Happy Groundhog Day / Will spring come early this year… or six more weeks of winter? This weekend, the daytime forecasts look good with temperatures in the forties. The Weather Channel posts that Punxsutawney Phil, “the world’s most famous groundhog didn’t see his shadow this morning in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. That means an early spring is on the way, according to Groundhog Day lore.”

Naperville Restaurant Week / All day at Naperville restaurants / Starting January 19 and running through February 4, the Naperville Restaurant Week will showcase many restaurants throughout town. Enter downtown Naperville along Main Street for a day of bargain hunting as stores offer clearance sales while making room for spring merchandise. While you’re there, take a break and head over to the Riverwalk Civic Plaza, Jackson Avenue at Webster. Note the historical plaque that indicates the Riverwalk celebrated its first 42 years on Sept. 7, 2023. 

When strolling the Riverwalk, look for bronze plaques that help tell the story of this community’s can-do spirit to create the Riverwalk Park along the DuPage River.
