Veterans will be honored via Art League art exhibit

-

Naperville Art League members will honor Veterans and current military via a special art exhibit titled “Veterans Day,” featured from Nov. 7 through Nov. 11 at the Naperville Fine Art Center & Gallery, 508 N. Center Street in Naperville. Admission is free.

Since Veteran’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, the federal observation date is Fri., Nov. 10, 2023; however, activities are often scheduled for both dates.

To show appreciation to military visitors to the art gallery, coffee and snacks will be provided both Fri., Nov. 10, and Sat., Nov. 11. Gallery hours are 10AM to 5PM Tuesday through Friday as well as 10AM to 4PM on Saturday.

Veteran’s Day is observed on November 11 each year. The annual observance evolved from Armistice Day, proclaimed in 1919 by President Woodrow Wilson. It recognized the end of World War I, when fighting ceased at the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month in 1918.

At 11AM on Sat., Nov. 11, the Naperville Art League will announce the winner of the show’s door prize.

Naperville Art League is a 501c3 nonprofit, serving the community through art classes, gallery displays, and special events including the Riverwalk Fine Art Fair and the Public Art Competition, and more.
