Call for auditions to perform in Magical Starlight Theatre production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’

Above / With memories of the 2023 production of Matilda, auditions will be held Oct. 7-8, 2023, for “Beauty and the Beast.” Adult and youth actors are invited to audition for the January 2024 production.

Magical Starlight Theatre, a program of the Naperville Park District, is holding auditions on Sat., Oct. 7, and Sun., Oct. 8, 2023, for its January 2024 production of “Beauty and the Beast.” Adults and youth, 4th grade and up, may audition for lead roles, supporting roles or the ensemble and are asked to prepare a vocal piece and a monologue from the show based on the role for which they are auditioning. Additionally, there will be a cold reading from the script and a dance audition.

Audition times are from 1PM to 5PM on both days at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, 305 W. Jackson Avenue. No advance time slot reservation is required; those auditioning are grouped as they arrive.

Call backs will be held at 6PM on Tuesday, October 10.

The mission of Magical Starlight Theatre is to create quality family-oriented theatrical productions; to develop a creative, supportive environment for artists; and to expand our community connection through the arts.

“We look forward to another exciting production from Magical Starlight Theatre,” said Program Manager Brittany Malatt. “It’s a great opportunity for actors and anyone who enjoys theater to get involved. In addition to acting, many people enjoy helping behind the scenes with costumes, sets and other creative work.”
