Naperville Community Unit School District 203 has announced that Ellsworth Elementary School has been selected as a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
Ellsworth receives the award in the category of Exemplary High-Performing Schools, which recognizes the state’s highest performing schools – measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests. The award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content.
In November, representatives from Ellsworth will officially receive the National Blue Ribbon Schools award at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Ellsworth becomes the fourth Naperville 203 school to receive National Blue Ribbon Schools recognition in the last two years. In 2022, Elmwood, Highlands and Steeple Run Elementary Schools each received National Blue Ribbon School recognition.
“Congratulations to the entire Ellsworth community!” stated Alex Mayster, Executive Director of Communication for School District 203, in a news release.
