The Jazz Yatra / 7 to 9PM at Wentz Concert Hall – 171 East Chicago Ave. Naperville, IL 60540 / $25 / World premiere featuring South Asian dance traditions and Indo-jazz score Mandala South Asian Performing Arts, which connects audiences and students with the vibrancy, flavors, and colors of the performing arts traditions of South Asia, presents the world premiere of The Jazz Yatra, showcasing South Asian dance traditions with an Indo-jazz score by acclaimed jazz guitarist Fareed Haque. ***Changing Seasons on the Patios at Mesón Sabika / 11:30AM to 9PM / Find a choice in patios at Mesón Sabika to sample Spanish tapas and delicious sangria for lunch and dinner. Located just west of downtown Naperville at 1025 Aurora Avenue, Mesón Sabika has been serving the community since 1990. Naperville Farmers Market / 7AM to Noon at Fifth Avenue Station – 200 East 5th Ave. Naperville, IL 60540 / The Farmers Market runs June through November with June-November we host 50-plus vendors every Saturday 7AM-noon.

Riverwalk Fine Art Fair / 10AM to 5PM in downtown Naperville along Jackson Ave. and the Riverwalk / Naperville Art League’s Riverwalk Fine Art Fair has been in the spotlight since its launch in 1985. It will commence from 10AM to 5PM this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free. The juried show will be home to 115 top-rated national artists who will fill the downtown area with an eclectic collection of fine art and fine wares.

***Constitution Day! / Commemorate the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by 39 dedicated and brave individuals on September 17, 1787. Plan an hour to read the founding document that makes a difference in this nation every day. Consider the First Amendment. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Learn all 27 Amendments. 

10th Annual Judd-A-Thon / 10AM at Naperville VFW – 908 Jackson Ave. Naperville, IL 60540 / The 10th annual Judd-A-Thon .1K will take place again near the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion. The short event will go a long way to help veteran and military families when it starts promptly at 10:01AM on Sun., Sept. 17. That means participants still have more than enough time to implement a rigorous training program to prepare for the grueling 0.1 km endurance race that has become a hallmark of the fitness community in Naperville, notes organizer Pablo Araya with the promise of a Lima Lima flyover, race bibs, t-shirts and goodie bags. Costumed runners and walkers are encouraged to add local color to the Judd-A-Thon. Walk to End Alzheimer’s Naperville / 9:30AM at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium – 455 South Brainard St. Naperville, IL 60540 / This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Constitution Day “Bells Across America” Carillon Concert / 3PM / Fort Payne Chapter NSDAR has arranged for the 72-bell Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower to ring in honor of the Constitution. City Carillonneur Tim Sleep will perform beginning with a bell strike, followed by “America,” “America the Beautiful,” and “Star Spangled Banner.”
