West Suburban Irish host weekday activities as club members get set for Irish Fest

Above / A casual gathering of musicians playing traditional Irish music on their traditional Irish instruments is set to warm hearts at Quigley’s Irish Pub. Fiddle away some time with live reels, hornpipes, slip jigs and many favorite Irish tunes.

Save the date! The Third Annual Naperville Irish Fest is set for a new month in a different park on Fri., Sept. 22, and Sat., Sept. 23. This year’s event will spread out throughout Central Park, located at 104 E. Benton Avenue and all along Court Place in downtown Naperville.

Meanwhile, members of the West Suburban Irish have planned a busy month leading up to Irish Fest.

Irish Session / Wed., Aug. 16

West Suburban Irish will host another Irish Session from 7:30PM to 9:30PM on Wed., Aug. 16, 2023, at Quigley’s Irish Pub, 43 E. Jefferson Avenue in downtown Naperville.

WSI Pub Crawl / Thurs., Aug. 17

Then the following day, Thurs., Aug. 17, the fun-loving organization will host its first-ever WSI Pub Crawl, sponsored in part by Dave Masa and Vickie Masa.
 
The bus will depart from Quigley’s Irish Pub at 5:30PM to visit five Irish pubs throughout the area, returning to Quigley’s at approximately 11:30PM. Participants will leave posters promoting the 2023 Irish Fest at each bar.

August General Membership Meeting / Mon., Aug. 21

The August General Membership Meeting will be held at Quigley’s Irish Pub from 6:30PM to 7:30PM on Mon., Aug. 21, 2023. Come join the group to learn more about upcoming festivities. New members always are welcome.

2023 Irish Fest / Sept. 22 & 23 in Central Park

The Third Annual Naperville Irish Fest, a two-day family-friendly festival, is set to begin at 3PM on Fri., Sept. 22, 2023. Organizers say “the fun continues Friday until 10PM and begins again at noon on Sat., Sept. 23, until 10PM.”

This year’s festival will be held in Central Park, “just steps behind Quigley’s Irish Pub.”

Discover the enchanting world of Irish music, as talented performers take the stage, filling the air with captivating melodies that will make every heart dance, organizers say. Experience the rhythmic beauty of Irish dancing, showcasing the skill and grace of talented performers.
 

When it comes to Irish sports, watch for hurling and football demo’s. Learn the basics of one of the world’s ancient sports. All ages and abilities will be welcomed to give it a try.

Leprechaun Landing at Irish Fest

Young festival-goers will discover an array of delightful children’s activities that promise endless smiles and laughter. Delightful children’s activities from face painting to exciting games, there’s something for every little adventurer. 

Finnegan’s Fare Eats and Drinks at Irish Fest

No Irish Fest would be complete without savoring the delicious flavors of Irish cuisine. The selection of traditional Irish dishes will be reminiscent of the cozy kitchens of Ireland.

Irish Village at Irish Fest

The Irish Village will provide opportunities to explore a variety of Irish offerings. Meet an Irish author, learn about Irish Community Services, sample award-winning Irish soda bread, view authentic Irish jewelry and gifts and inhale the heady scent of homemade soaps. The marketplace will provide a sampling of Irish items that just might inspire visitors to book a trip to the Emerald Isle.
