Brats at Kreger’s / 10AM to 3PM Fridays and Saturdays / Kreger’s Brat and Sausage Haus, 606 N. Ellsworth / Stop by for lunch, conversation and camaraderie. Plan a barbecue and pick up handcrafted bratwurst for the grill. And be sure to tell Bill Kreger that you know his wurst is the best.

***Take 15 to 20 minutes to take 2023 Open Participation Community Survey / Now around the clock through Aug. 16 / Click city-launches-community-survey for the brief story posted in early July. ***Enjoy Family-Friendly Quigley’s Irish Pub / 8:30PM at Quigley’s Irish Pub – 43 E. Jefferson Ave. Naperville, IL 60540 / Quigley’s Irish Pub features live music Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Stop by for a cool pint, live music and honest pub fare. Weather permitting, the patio is open every day!

***Enjoy the view from up, up, up in Moser Tower / Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1-6PM (Times may fluctuate after 3PM) / The southern view from the observation deck of Moser Tower features Naperville Central High School and Edward Hospital. For information about times and tickets ($3) to climb the tower, visit the Riverwalk Café near the Riverwalk Quarry. Info about daily rentals for paddleboat rentals also is inside the Riverwalk Café.

Enjoy outdoor and indoor dining at Meson Sabika.

***Summertime on the Patios at Mesón Sabika / Find a choice in patios at Mesón Sabika to sample Spanish tapas and delicious sangria for lunch and dinner. Located just west of downtown Naperville at 1025 Aurora Avenue, Mesón Sabika has been serving the community since 1990. Built in 1847, the historic mansion with eight air-conditioned dining rooms is set in a beautifully landscaped four-acre estate, providing a welcoming sight with plenty of parking for lunch, dinner, special events, benefits, weddings, meetings and family gatherings throughout the year.

Naperville Farmers Market / 7AM to Noon at Fifth Avenue Station – 200 East 5th Ave. Naperville, IL 60540 / The Farmers Market runs June through November with June-November we host 50-plus vendors every Saturday 7AM-noon.

Enjoy the view from the Farmers Plaza at the Eagle Street entrance to the Riverwalk where there’s a tribute to the community’s rural heritage. The local community’s can-do spirit is dotted with sights of the Gregory Gazebo, Jaycees Marina, Rotary Hill and Moser Tower with the 72-bell carillon. (PN Photo, June 2023)

***Summer Sights along the Riverwalk / Now through Labor Day Weekend and then some… / The Paddleboat Quarry (with paddleboats and kayaks for rent), Carillon Concerts (7PM Tuesdays) at the site of Moser Tower, Jaycees Playground and Centennial Beach (check its updated August schedule) now are open for the summer season. Stroll the winding Naperville Riverwalk available every day of the year from the Jefferson Avenue Bridge to the Hillside Road Bridge. And, of course, right now, passersby can pause to watch construction underway for rebuilding the Washington Street Bridge near Fredenhagen Park. Remember! With progress comes patience.

Naperville Rotary Ride / 6:30AM at Commissioners Park – 3704 111th St. Naperville, IUL 60564 / $50 / The Rotary Club of Naperville-Sunrise will host the 26th Annual Rotary Ride on Sunday, August 13 at Commissioners Park, 3704 111th St. Naperville. The Ride has a 1.4 mile family loop, 21, 41, and 62 (metric century) mile routes. Riders may start at 6:30AM and no later than 10AM. All routes are SAG supported and rest stops are fully staffed with food and drinks. Register at napervillerotaryride.com.

India Day Parade and Celebration / 11AM – 10PM at Rotary Hill – 440 Aurora Ave.
Naperville, IL 60540 / The ninth annual India Day Parade and Celebration will feature a free concert by Bollywood Rockstar, large decorated floats, classical and modern dances, food and drink, a children’s area, fashion show, and shopping for Indian ethnic dresses and jewelry. Parade steps off at 11AM from NNHS, following along Mill Street to Jackson Ave. (Note some road closures from 7AM to 1PM. Alert! Park in well-marked assigned parking areas only. Music on the Farm / 4PM / Spend a summer evening at beautiful 60-acre McDonald Farm, 10S404 Knoch Knolls Road, where they’ll be featuring the Bree Gordon Band and Wild Fries food truck. Music on the Farm is a family-friendly event and FREE. “Grab a lawn chair, pack a few drinks, and sit back to take in the music and the pastoral views of McDonald Farm,” organizers say.
