The Y – Happenings at the Fry Family YMCA

-

We are busy, busy, busy at the Fry Family YMCA this month!

Regular readers of this column will know that we are smack in the middle of Day Camp season right now, with just a few weeks and a few open spots left in Traditional Camp, Sports Camp, and STEAM Camp. If you’re inclined to register for a session, we’d love to have you! The excitement and buzz created by our campers definitely makes this season one of our favorites each year.

For those not quite Day Camp age any longer, the Fry Family YMCA has a lot of programming for adults in the community. Did you also know the Fry Family YMCA — along with all Ys in our Association — is a program location for One Pass? You might know it better by its past name, Silver Sneakers. No matter what you call it, we want our active older adults to come work out and hang out with us!

Maybe you’re more of a splash enthusiast. In that case, don’t forget that we offer swim lessons all year round for every age and every stage. Water safety is a lifesaving skill that no one is too old or too young to start learning. At the Y, we also work to give everyone a sense of belonging and confidence by celebrating their achievements in the water, so come join us!

Speaking of the pool, we’re excited to share that pool hours were recently expanded, and we expect for them to remain so for the foreseeable future! Check out the Center Offerings tab at fryfamilyymca.org for the most up-to-date pool schedule, along with our group fitness schedule and all kinds of other information. The Fry Family Y team wants to extend a very special, very enthusiastic “thank you” to our members and participants for their flexibility and understanding in recent weeks as we experienced some unanticipated schedule changes. Your continued support and patronage are greatly appreciated!

Last but certainly not least, don’t forget to find us on social media. Our recently relaunched Facebook page is available at facebook.com/FryFamilyY. There, you’ll get updates on programming, services, and more, in addition to some super cute and fun photos. If you’re not on Facebook, find us at fryfamilyymca.org. And if you’re more analog, i.e., you’re reading this column in the print edition, you can always stop by our front desk to chat with the team about upcoming events and other happenings!

Until next time!
