Everything you need to know for the 2023 Naperville Salute at Rotary Hill

-

The Naperville Salute will return to Rotary Hill alongside the Riverwalk June 30 through July 3.

The Salute is the City’s family-friendly Independence Day Weekend hometown celebration, centered around appreciation for Veterans, active military, first responders and their families.

Festival highlights will include live music, Ruck March, food and beverage vendors, special presentations for our military veterans, and a Family Fun Area.

The Naperville Salute Ruck March will take place on July 2. A ruck is a brisk walk or march – and most ruckers generally march with a weighted backpack for fitness purposes. If you ever walked to school with a backpack full of books, you’ve rucked.

The Ruck will begin at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion and conclude at Rotary Hill July 2. The cost is $30/person with registration beginning at 8:30AM and festivities beginning at 10AM. After the Ruck, participants can enjoy food, drinks, music and family entertainment on Rotary Hill. Register for the Salute Ruck at www.eventbrite.com/e/the-naperville-salute-ruck-march.

Salute Food Court presents variety of vendors

Pizza, hotdogs, tacos and BBQ will be featured among beverages presented by food vendors.

A sponsorship area also provides menus for sponsors. Another tent on site is designated for Veterans, open with complimentary meals and gratitude to all Veterans, thanks to sponsoring businesses.

Hot off providing pizza at the Naperville Woman’s Club Fine Art & Artisan Fair at Naper Settlement, Terrell Cole will return to SALUTE with his bright red oven, providing his movable feasts during the 4-day event with other food venders at Rotary Hill.

Opportunities to thank Veterans and First Responders for service

In 2022, American Legion Riders sold RED shirts with the message “Remember Everyone Deployed.” The successful fundraiser helped to sponsor the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument, recently dedicated in Veterans Park. Thanks also to Naperville Responds for Veterans and all donors that made the GSFMM a local tribute on the Century Walk Tour. (PN File Photo)

Cheers! God bless America! Happy Independence Day!

Naperville Municipal Band Annual Patriotic Concert set for June 29 has been reset to 7:30PM Thurs., July 6, in Central Park because of air-quality conditions.  Again the Independence Day tribute promises to be a blast during its performance of the 1812 Overture with cannon accents. Open to the public and free of charge.

Naperville Fireworks begin at 9:30PM Tues., July 4, at Frontier Sports Complex, just south of 95th Street. Open to the public and free of charge.

Celebrate safely. Leave all fireworks to the professionals. Thank you.
