Some folks simply like to move on with little fanfare. They want nothing more than having done a good job while in service to their community. That’s how friends of Naperville Police Deputy Chief Bob Lee described the way he wanted to retire after 29 years with the City of Naperville.
Yet, that wish wasn’t to be when more than 150 friends, family and colleagues toasted Lee during an event after his final day on the job on Fri., June 23. The outdoor event was held at Chop’d in Plainfield.
“On behalf of the City of Naperville, I extend our well wishes and thanks for Deputy Chief Bob Lees’ decades of courage and service to our community as a proud member of the Naperville Police Department,” said Naperville Mayor Scott Wehrli, an attendee at the retirement party.
Folks in attendance noted the dedicated sworn officer with many commendations was visibly touched by the unexpected tributes as he moves on to his future responsibilities in law enforcement.
