A few things to do in Naperville June 23 to June 25

Above / The State Bird of Illinois can be seen (nesting with three babies in a bush in our front yard) and heard (sounding like “birdie, birdie, birdie, cheer, cheer, cheer”) just about everywhere throughout the community. Friday, June 23

Every summer day, stay hydrated! Stay safe, cool and simply hydrated every day. Take a dip at Centennial Beach, open from 11:30AM to 8PM.  Centennial Beach hours through Aug. 16 are 11:30AM to 8PM weekdays, 11AM to 8PM Saturdays and 11AM to 6PM Sundays. Adult Floats are 9AM to 10:55AM Saturdays and Sundays. Centennial Beach is located at 500 W. Jackson Avenue in downtown Naperville. Daily admission is open for residents and nonresidents. While you’re at it, welcome summer with a little rain dance during the night time hours for all things growing green!

Flying into Summer in downtown Naperville / YESTERDAY, NOW, TOMORROW AND THROUGHOUT THIS SUMMER! / Come-see-ums, a.k.a. benches in the shape of dragonflies, welcome folks to explore works of art that tell whimsical and vibrant stories from now until September on the streets where local residents live. Summer Sights along the Riverwalk / Now through Labor Day Weekend and then some… / The Paddleboat Quarry, Carillon Concerts (7PM Tuesdays) at the site of Moser Tower, Jaycees Playground and Centennial Beach now are open for the summer season. Stroll the winding Naperville Riverwalk available every day of the year from the Jefferson Avenue Bridge to the Hillside Road Bridge. And, of course, right now, passersby can pause to watch construction underway for rebuilding the Washington Street Bridge near Fredenhagen Park. Remember! With progress comes patience.

Lawn sprinkling is permitted only during the hours of 6-10AM and 6–10PM. Property owners with odd-numbered street addresses may use sprinklers on odd-numbered days of the month. Naperville Salute, June 30-July 3 / Naperville Salute aims to bring family fun to Rotary Hill June 30 through July 3 in the heart of downtown along the Riverwalk. Click here for a link to the music schedule that includes 13 bands. Be sure to note OMT, a local favorite, is set to perform at 4PM Mon., July 3. The Naperville Salute is the City’s family-friendly Independence Day Hometown Celebration, centered around appreciation for Veterans, active military, first responders and their families. 

Fireworks at Frontier Park, 9:30PM July 4 / Then on Independence Day, the City of Naperville and Naperville Park District have planned a spectacular all-American fireworks display at Frontier Park beginning at 9:30PM, Tues., July 4, to light up the sky.
