Have you seen the Fry Family YMCA Tuk Tuk cruising around town? We think it looks pretty great. And we know it’s a super fun experience. A big thanks to our friends at Tuk Tuk Naperville for their partnership and support!
In non-Tuk Tuk news: It’s official — we’ve kicked off Day Camp Season, and we’re right in the thick of sports, nature exploration, STEAM activities, swimming, and all things Summer Camp. Fry Family YMCA Day Camp runs through August 11 with options all summer long for youth ages 3 to 15, which means there’s still time to sign up!
At Y Day Camp, youth will take on new challenges, build muscle and brain power, and make new friends. Our experienced staff (trained in first aid, CPR, child-abuse prevention, and health and safety protocols) will guide campers through a full day of play, learning, and personal growth. In fact, many of our counselors and staff attended Y Day Camp themselves — they loved Day Camp so much, they came back to lead it!
By the way, if you’re interested in leading Fry Family Y Day Camp — or working for the Y as a lifeguard, support staff, or in any other role — visit ymcachicago.org/careers, because we’re still hiring for camp counselors and aquatics staff, among other positions.
Is your youth interested specifically in sports? Our Sports Specialty Camps run through August 4 for youth and teens and focus on a different sport (or sports!) each session. Campers in Sports Camp will learn specific skills and strategies for the week’s sport(s) using the appropriate equipment in gym and outdoor spaces. Offerings include Sports Camp Empowering Her, Sports of All Sorts, Speed Training, and more.
Want to explore it all? We have lots of Traditional Camp sessions, which offer the full Day Camp experience: outdoor fun, arts & crafts, pool time, performing arts, and group games. For budding scientists, we offer Tinkerers Camp, Coding & Robotics, Circuitry, and Space Camp. Builders and creators will love DIY Camp, LEGO Camp (including an Advanced LEGO Camp session!), and Superhero Camp.
Can’t choose? Well, you don’t have to! Many of our Day Campers attend multiple sessions.
