Calling all pet parents! Chicago Veterinary Medical Association is conducting a pet photo contest this spring.

Pet owners are invited to submit their favorite image of their pet(s) for consideration with the possibility of their photo being published in the CVMA’s first-ever wall calendar. The 2024 calendar will be sold later this fall through the CVMA and select veterinary offices.

“Many people still use wall calendars, and if you’re a pet lover, there’s nothing like having a calendar that shows animals in their cutest and most intriguing moments,” explained Ray McGury, CVMA Executive Director. “Chicago Veterinary Medical Association supports the veterinary community, which in turn helps care for the animals that we love, and we’d like to help showcase some of the pets that mean the most to our community.”

Furry, Feathery or Slithery Friend Photos Welcome

To submit a favorite image of a furry, feathery, or slithery friend, send a full color, high resolution photo (300 dpi or greater) via email to admin@cvma.org by June 30, 2023.

Be sure to include “CVMA Pet Photo Contest” in the subject line.

Also include name, phone number and the name of the pet(s) shown in the photo. Each entrant may submit a maximum of two photos for consideration. Kindly submit photos of pet(s) only (no humans, please).

Entries received will be reviewed and judged by the Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois – an independent panel of animal afficionados. Thirteen winning entries will be selected to be included in the CVMA’s 2024 calendar. Each winning pet parent will receive a calendar once they are available, likely in mid-November.

Calendars will be marketed and sold later this year through the CVMA and other partners.
