Above / It’s the last Friday in April and that means it’s Arbor Day 2023. Appreciating the strength of mature trees in Knoch Knolls Park seems like an appropriate way to recognize the wrap up of another 4-year term for the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners when two members of the seven-member board are about to turn over their seats to new commissioners. Plan to plant a tree! Enjoy nature in the great outdoors. Go fish. Go golf. Appreciate Naperville parks every day.
Naperbrook’s future practice facility will be named the ‘Marie Todd Practice Facility’

At the April 27, 2023, meeting, the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners approved the naming of the golf practice facility planned for Naperbrook Golf Course the “Marie Todd Practice Facility.” The Park Board approved the naming by resolution after a 60-day consideration period required by the board’s policies, which began on February 23, 2023.
Commissioner Marie Todd has served on the Park Board since 2005, with her final term to end in May 2023. She was elected Board President for the 2006-2007 year and again for 2021-2022 and served as Vice President from 2008-2009.
“Commissioner Todd has served the Park District and the community with dedication for the past 18 years,” said Executive Director Brad Wilson. “Her support and vision have helped the Park District to provide outstanding amenities and improvements for the community, including the renovation of Centennial Beach, the development of Knoch Knolls Nature Center, the expansion of Nike Sports Complex, the construction of Fort Hill Activity Center, 95th Street Community Plaza and Wolf’s Crossing Community Park, and most recently, the renovation of Springbrook and Naperbrook Golf Courses. We greatly appreciate her commitment and longstanding service to the Park District and the community.”
The new practice facility named for Commissioner Todd is planned for 2024, and will include two bunkers and a short game fairway. This chipping and bunker practice area will be located at the current 18th green, following the development of a new 18th green, approach and greenside bunker.
“As we begin the planned improvements at Naperbrook Golf Course, we look forward to the completion of the Marie Todd Practice Facility, which will be a great addition for our golfers,” said Director of Golf Kevin Carlson.
