Naperville’s Hotel Arista and Arista Spa & Salon receive Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards

Forbes Travel Guide (FTG), the only global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants and spas, this month announced its 2023 Star Awards. Modern luxury boutique, Hotel Arista, earned a Forbes Travel Guide Recommended award and its Arista Spa & Salon received a Four Star award.

Located on the northwest side of Naperville, Hotel Arista at CityGate Centre was among 13 Illinois hotels recognized. The other 12 FTG award winners are in Downtown Chicago.

Likewise, among the five Illinois spas rated by FTG, Arista Spa & Salon is the lone awardee outside of Chicago.

“We provide the best Chicago has to offer in luxury accommodations and experiences without the challenges of a metropolitan environment,” stated Hotel Arista General Manager Ryan Kingston. “We cater to the discerning traveler who recognizes Forbes standards as the best global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants and spas.”

As the first LEED-certified hotel in Illinois — something that FTG points out in its narrative — Hotel Arista, built in 2008, has been well ahead of the sustainability movement that FTG added to its criteria in 2021. The FTG site further states, “[Hotel Arista] … takes pride in every detail: The Living Room fireplace has no carbon footprint … [it uses] less water and energy than a typical hotel, so guests can be assured they are choosing eco-friendly accommodations.”

“We are honored to receive this recognition and are equally proud of our team’s efforts and focus,” Kingston said.

The increased focus of FTG on sustainability reflects its growing importance to traveling consumers. A recent Virtuoso survey reports “Elite travelers” (comprising one percent of the global population but contributing nearly 40 percent of global travel dollars) are prioritizing sustainability. Nearly 80 percent of elite travelers indicate responsible travel is a priority. Furthermore, a Skift Research worldwide travel study reports that travelers seeking sustainable options “want to see an authentic commitment to sustainability, not just lip service” and that seven in 10 consumers avoided a destination or transportation option they felt was not truly committed to sustainability.

“Travel is in an incredible position for continued growth, as people prioritize authentic, in-person experiences,” says Amanda Frasier, President of Ratings for Forbes Travel Guide.

Special attractions as well as business and social event space

Featured in the “Things to Know” recap, FTG reminds readers that Hotel Arista hosts the Naperville Artisan Market. For 2023, Artisan Market events are coming to CityGate Centre on two weekends: May 21-22 and Aug. 13-14.

A 144-room boutique, Hotel Arista offers an array of business and social event spaces and, as the tallest building in Naperville, exceptional views from its 12th floor terrace. In addition to its Forbes recommendation, it is the only AAA Four Diamond hotel in Naperville and maintains GreenSeal™ certification.

Arista Spa & Salon is known for combining ancient inspiration and modern technology. Its services have been crafted to meet the needs of both men and women, and it offers an inspiring couples’ room, allowing guests to experience complete relaxation with their special someone. It carries several eco-friendly, geographically exclusive product lines.
