Update, March 5, 2023 / Remaining VFW Fish Fry on Fridays during Lent canceled
For those that have attended our “Friday Night Fish Fries” in the past, you know that these dinners have been a tradition within the Naperville community and that for three hours each Friday night, the Hall was filled with people as they enjoyed dinner and socialized with friends while supporting the Post.
Unfortunately, this year we have experienced a significantly lower turn out than in previous years, which makes it infeasible for us to continue hosting this event. As a result, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel all remaining fish fries for this year.
Thank you to everyone who attended during the past two weeks and to those who worked to make each event run smoothly and efficiently. We also want to thank Belgio’s Catering for continuing to partner with us in this endeavor and for their support as we make this decision. —Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873
Original Post, Feb. 5, 2023 / Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 is pleased to announce that it will resume hosting its annual “All You Can Eat” Friday night Fish Fry dinners beginning on Feb. 24, 2023, from 4:30PM to 7:30PM.
These dinners will continue through Lent and are open to the public.
As in the past, a buffet menu will feature a variety of fish, meat, vegetables, and other food items prepared by Belgio’s Catering. Menus vary each week and include dessert, coffee, and nonalcoholic beverages or water.
For more than 50 years, attending the Friday night Fish Fry upstairs at the VFW during Lent has become a tradition for many local residents.
“It’s a way of enjoying dinner with family, friends, and others while supporting our local veterans,” noted organizer Tom Parker for the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3973. “The Post is happy to be able to provide this opportunity again this year.”
The Judd Kendall VFW Post is located at 908 W. Jackson Avenue, just west of downtown Naperville.
