Cardinals kick off at noon today, Dec. 3, at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium

Updated Post PM Dec 3, 2022 / North Central College commanded the lead throughout the game with a 48-7 victory over Ithaca College. The half-time score was 21-7.

Congratulations, Cardinals, and Coach Brad Spencer, former wide receiver for the team, serving his first season as head coach. North Central College now will make history on Dec. 10 when for the first time ever the college will host the national semifinals for the NCAA Division III. That playoff game will be broadcast at 2:30PM CST on ESPN-Plus.

The national semifinals will match the undefeated North Central College Cardinals (13-0) against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders (12-1). Watch final details of the semifinal playoffs broadcast at https://www.espn.com/espnplus/schedule/.

Looking ahead to the end of the season, beginning at 6PM Fri., Dec. 16, 2022, the National NCAA Division III Championship—also known as the Stagg Bowl—will be played at the Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland.

Original Post AM Dec. 3, 2022 / The North Central College Cardinals victory 28-7 over the Carnegie Melon University Tartans on Dec. 3 advanced Naperville’s college to take on the Ithaca College Bombers in the quarterfinals on their home field at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadum.

NCTV-17 cameras set around the field will broadcast the came live, available for streaming.

Game time kick off is 12-Noon today, Sat., Dec. 3. Tickets at the box office are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.

Cardinals & NCAA Division III Football…

Be ready to join the fans at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium by putting on red Cardinal spirit wear again this weekend.

To briefly recap the tournament so far… After its 50-0 victory in Game 1 against Lake Forest College Foresters, North Central College Cardinals advanced to Game 2 of the 2022 NCAA Division III Playoffs. The Cardinals are ranked #1 in the nation and the college hosted a second-round playoff game on Nov. 26, when the undefeated Cardinals again played at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, matching up in Game 2 against the Tartans from Carnegie Mellon University and winning 28-7. 

The weather forecast includes sunshine and more sunshine Saturday afternoon, Dec. 3.

Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium is located at 455 S. Brainard on the campus of North Central College.

Bundle up, bring a lap blanket and hit the stands for a seat to watch the North Central College Cardinals welcome the Ithaca College Bombers to the quarterfinals.

North Central College on the radio…

Listen to the game on the radio, too. Then after the game, tune into the North Central College award-winning radio station, WONC, for some “Pure Rock” around the clock at 89.1 FM.

Since 1968, WONC has been the College’s student-run broadcast station in the heart of Naperville. Today the station’s programming is described as “AOR.” AOR is “radio lingo” for album-oriented rock. Listen to find a balance between classic rock and new rock.
