KidsMatter is looking forward to partnering with the Naperville Park District again on the Community Job Fair set for Sat., Jan. 7, 2023. The Job Fair will be held from 10AM to-1PM at Fort Hill Activity Center in the gymnasium, first floor, located at 20 Fort Hill Drive in Naperville. This is a free event and is intended for a variety of job seekers, from high school students (ages 15 and up) to senior adults.
College students home on winter break are encouraged to attend. It is a great opportunity to begin looking for summer employment and internships. Mock interviews, resume building, financial literacy, and other career readiness preparation for both high school and college students will be offered. The 2023 Community Job Fair also will include job opportunities for retirees and other adults seeking part-time work.
In preparation for the Community Job Fair, we recently worked collaboratively on a new event. “Your Brand Matters,” a career readiness fair for Naperville School District 203 high school students, was planned and developed by Naperville School District 203, Learning Commons Directors at Naperville Central High School and Naperville North High School, and KidsMatter to better expose students to best practices in developing their professional image. Students engaged in learning and practiced skills related to job seeking, applications, interviewing, resume writing, online image, and professionalism. We were very grateful to the many community organizations, volunteers and sponsors that helped to support the event. Books about career readiness also were donated to the school libraries. “Your Brand Matters” did a great job supporting college and career readiness, and helping students gain confidence and be ready to participate in the Community Job Fair.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Community Job Fair on January 7! Please help us spread the word. For more information, area businesses interested in participating may contact Sherilyn Hebel at sherilyn@kidsmatter2us.org.
