-

Above / A “Progress in Progress Celebration” is set to welcome visitors from 11AM to 3PM Sat., Sept. 24, throughout downtown Naperville. Princess Storytime will be featured in the breezeway “Main Place” along Jefferson Avenue. All shops and restaurants throughout the central business district will be open regular business hours. Come see what’s new!

Update, Sept. 24, 2022 / Autumn spiced up the afternoon for live entertainment in downtown Naperville.

While the 8-member Motown Nation performed great sounds of music for folks of all ages to dance in the Riverwalk Parking Lot, a juggler and stilt walker entertained, too.

Original Post, Sept. 23, 2022 / After a spring and summer filled with construction projects to improve pedestrian mobility, accessibility, infrastructure and safety in the downtown area, the Downtown Naperville Alliance invites the community to celebrate construction wrapping up during its Progress in Progress Celebration from 11AM to 3PM on Sat., Sept. 24.

“The forecast is for a beautiful autumn day Saturday with highs in the 70s,” said Danielle Tufano, Executive Director of the Downtown Naperville Alliance. “We’re inviting all ages to enjoy better ways to navigate our beautiful downtown.”

More than a beautification project

“Let alone was the construction a beautification project, it also allowed for desperately-needed replacement and repair of the underground infrastructure in our downtown,” Tufano explained, noting some odds and ends are still in the works and expected to be completed by mid-October.

“What better way to show off our beautiful new downtown area and showcase the businesses that stuck through the project than with a free family-friendly celebration?”

Tufano said individual store windows likely will feature specials offered for the event.

Bring the family—all ages—downtown on Sat., Sept. 24 to enjoy free activities along Jefferson Avenue, west of Main Street from 11AM to 1PM; then visit the Riverwalk Lot, Main Street at Jackson Avenue from 1PM to 3PM.

All parking, whether curbside or in surface lots and park parking decks is free! From 1 to 3PM Sat., find special festivities on the Riverwalk Lot, Jackson Avenue at Main Street.

Just caddy corner in Dean’s Clothing Parking Lot, Allegory will pull in its food truck to serve $5 specials from 1PM to 3PM.
