Power of the people goes forward with all-American spirit

-

With more than 110 teammates, Team Nancy received acclaim as the largest team in the 2022 Naperville Walk for Pancreatic Research on July 17.

Team Nancy was a tribute to Nancy Krejci of Naperville who lost a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer at age 60 on May 2, 2021.

Beginning and ending at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, the tally from all teams and individuals for the Naperville walk climbed to $126K, with much gratitude to all from event organizers Ann Zediker and Jennifer Tedrow.

For more information or to contribute to funding in support of the Lustgarten Foundation Naperville Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk, visit www.lustgarten.org and find the walk. Watch for details next summer for the 13th walk.

Setup for the Naperville Salute July 1-4 at Rotary Hill went quite quickly when the Naperville North Football Team provided the volunteer manpower.

During the 3rd Annual Independence Day Kick Off hosted by Safe Suburbs USA along the Riverwalk, Will County States Attorney Jim Glasgow stood among the featured speakers for the nonpartisan grassroots initiative in support of law enforcement. Glasgow encouraged attendees to read the SAFE-T Act and to contact Illinois State Legislators and all lawmakers with any concerns. Billed as criminal law reform, the law goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2023, and aims to end cash bail. Local TV cameras were there to record the presentation, .A clip of Glasgow’s speech is featured at safesuburbsusa.com. Subsequent reports downstate also urge repeal, amendments and/or trailers to portions of the SAFE-T Act. Read the bill for the facts.

Happy Birthday, America! Of course, this 4-year-old is showing her independence.
