In a written statement, DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin has announced that County Board Member Amy Chavez has resigned.
“As Economic Development Committee Chair, Member Chavez has been a strong advocate for the DuPage County business community. Her thoughtful approach and dedication to the residents of District 5 is to be commended. We thank Member Chavez for her service and wish her and her family well.”
Note about vacant County Board seat
Amy Chavez, a Naperville resident, has served as a County Board member since 2020. Her vacant seat will be filled by Chairman Cronin with the advice and consent of the County Board.
Under state election law, a new member must be appointed within 60 days of Chavez’ resignation from the Board and must be from the same political party – Chavez is a Democrat.
The newly appointed Board member will serve the remainder of Chavez’ term, which expires Dec. 5, 2022. Residents of District 5 who are interested in seeking appointment to the County Board should email a resume and letter of no more than 300 words outlining their interest to Chairman Cronin at email@example.com.
