Above / Naperville Public Works Service Center is located at 180 Fort Hill Drive. The public is invited to a meeting scheduled from 4-7PM Thurs., July 21, 2022, about the second phase of North Aurora Road improvements.
The City of Naperville, in cooperation with Naperville Township and the City of Aurora, will host a public information meeting to discuss the second phase of improvements to North Aurora Road, which includes widening North Aurora Road from Frontenac Road to Pennsbury Lane and improving a roughly 110-year-old railroad bridge within the project area.
The meeting will be held from 4 to 7PM on Thurs., July 21, in Room 310 of the Naperville Public Works Service Center, 180 Fort Hill Drive.
The City of Naperville began work in 2006 to secure funding to improve sections of North Aurora Road to reduce vehicle congestion and crashes and improve access for bicyclists and pedestrians in the area. Work is being conducting in two phases, with phase one currently in progress and expected to be complete in late 2022. Phase two is expected to go to bid in November 2022, with construction expected to be complete in late 2024.
Representatives from the City will be available to provide project details and answer questions on topics including the need for the project, project design and right-of-way acquisition, as well as the tentative construction schedule. Preliminary reports, including environmental documents and an engineering analysis with drawings, maps, and aerial photography, will be available for viewing. No formal presentation will be given, and attendees can come and go at any point during the meeting.
Additional project information is available on the City’s website at naperville.il.us/north-aurora-improvements.
