Visit Naperville — We Know Sports

-

Above / The collage of Naperville’s sports facilities was created by Michael Panas,
Web Designer & Social Media Manager for the Naperville Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The sports-loving community of Naperville has impressive indoor and outdoor facilities to accommodate all manners of play. Local top-notch sports complexes attract groups for games and tournaments, and provide convenient access to hotels, restaurants, and plenty of attractions to keep everyone entertained.

The Naperville Park District manages local parks including Commissioners Park and Frontier Park, large complexes perfect for soccer, lacrosse, baseball and softball, which also contain picnic pavilions, playgrounds and walking trails to enjoy. Nike Park Sports Complex has multiple basketball courts, baseball and softball fields, soccer/lacrosse fields, and cricket, tennis, sand volleyball and pickleball.   Naperville facilities have hosted tournaments from lacrosse to rugby, softball to pickleball, and even bocce ball.

Brad Wilson, Executive Director of the Naperville Park District, reflects, “Many organizations return year after year. They like this location for our facilities, vibrant downtown, and the host of amenities that makes Naperville a great place to spend your time.”

When you’re not playing, check out fun attractions like the Riverwalk, Naper Settlement, WhirlyBall, iFly, Top Golf, and DuPage Children’s Museum.

With Naperville’s wide range of hotel options, and the local expertise of the CVB (Convention and Visitors Bureau), Naperville can effectively meet the needs of traveling teams. Wilson says “the Park District partnership with the CVB allows us to provide an ideal environment for sporting events.”

Sports teams often enjoy a hotel with free breakfast, like the Embassy Suites, Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, or Best Western. The Marriot, Hotel Indigo, and Hotel Arista also have restaurants on site.

Hotels with pools, such as the Embassy Suites, Marriot, Courtyard by Marriot, Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and TownePlace Suites, are great places to relax after a long day.

The CVB also can help find restaurants to accommodate a large team dinner, such as Aurelio’s, Draft Picks, Empire Burger Bar, or one of two Portillo’s locations.

If you’re looking to host a tournament or start a new league, we have sports facilities to fit your needs, and an incredible CVB to help make the process seamless. Naperville knows sports!
