Earlier this year, the Naperville Municipal Band sent out its annual solicitation notice to the public requesting for nonprofit organizations to apply to be part of its lottery and a chance to host a bake sale in the gazebo during summer concerts in Central Park.

For 2022, concerts will be held at 7:30PM on Thursdays from June 9 through August 11. Any nonprofit organization serving the Naperville community was eligible to apply.

According to Rachel Israel, Concert Bake Sale Chair, in early May the organizations that were selected in the drawing were contacted to confirm availability. By last week all dates were confirmed by the nonprofit groups.

For 10 weeks during the summer, the big stage door goes up for a Thursday evening performance by the Naperville Municipal Band in Central Park.

Now during the upcoming concert season, the community will have a chance to taste test for the best bakers and treat makers in town.

Under the leadership of Conductor and Music Director Ron Keller as well as Assistant Directors René Rosa and Emily Binder, the award-winning band with Ann Lord as emcee entertains thousands of listeners every summer with its free weekly concerts, in addition to fall, winter and spring concerts, also with no admission charge.
