Above / Cool breezes on opening day, May 28, at Centennial Beach were just right for the staff and lifeguards to handle as they welcomed in the 2022 season. Attendants at the gate expect bigger crowds and a packed beach for the remainder of Memorial Day weekend when temperatures begin climbing on Sunday, followed by “highs in the 90s by Monday.” (PN Photo, May 28, 2022)

The National Moment of Remembrance on Memorial Day is 3PM
The National Moment of Remembrance is an annual event set for 3PM on Memorial Day to remember all fallen heroes and their families who sacrificed for this nation. No matter what time zone, the 3PM time was chosen as a time to pause and reflect because mid-afternoon is when many Americans are enjoying their freedoms on Memorial Day.
