Meeting is planned to address Naperville 203 special education services for private and home-schooled students

Above / Administrators of special education services at Naperville Community Unit School District 203 urge parents or guardians to attend Zoom meeting.

Naperville Community Unit School District 203 will hold a meeting on Wed., May 11, 2022, to discuss the district’s plan for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private schools or who are home schooled within the Naperville District 203 boundaries.

The meetings will be held via Zoom Meeting from 10AM to 10:30AM for non-public schools and 11AM to 11:30AM for families who home school. Parents or guardians of private school and home schooled students who have been or may be identified with a disability and live within District 203 boundaries are urged to attend.  

RSVP to attend is required by May 6, 2022,  to Michelle Swope at mswope@naperville203.org.  Only those individuals that RSVP will receive the confirmation link to access the Zoom meeting.

Section 1117 of the Every Student Succeeds Act

In compliance with Section 1117 of the Every Student Succeeds Act, Naperville Community Unit School District 203 will consult with private school officials regarding Title 1 funds at this meeting. No decisions that affect the opportunities of eligible private school children, teachers, and other educational personnel to participate in programs under this act will be made prior to this consultation.  Consultation will continue throughout the implementation and assessment of activities under this section.

The District is required to distribute a portion of its Federal Title II and Title IV funds to eligible private schools that are located within the district’s boundaries.  The required equitable share will be allocated to eligible private schools for the Title II and Title IV programs based on the District’s allocation for the current fiscal year.
