Alert! 111th Street will be closed at railroad crossing April 16-20, 2022

Above/ Signs are reminders that 111th Street railroad crossing work begins at 6AM Sat., April 16, 2022. Road surface improvements will close 111th Street at the railroad crossing through April 20. Folks who use this railroad crossing will want to plan an alternate route from April 16-20.

Maintenance work near the 111th Street railroad crossing is scheduled to begin on Sat., April 16, and be complete by the evening of Wed., April 20, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances.

According to its website, BNSF Railway operates one of the largest freight train networks in North America, with 32,500 miles of rail across the western two-thirds of the United States.

Work by the Wisconsin Central/Canadian National Railroad to improve the road surface on 111th Street at the railroad tracks will require a complete closure of 111th Street at the crossing during this time.

A detour will be in place and direct motorists to use 248th Avenue, 119th Street and U.S. Route 30.
