Update / The 2024 concert is set to be performed at 7PM on Sat. March 2.

Original Post, Feb. 28, 2022 / After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, North Central College will resume its traditional Chords for Kids concert with its 15th performance beginning at 7PM Sat., March 5,  in Wentz Concert Hall, located at 171 E. Chicago Ave., just east of Downtown Naperville.

This one-of-a-kind experience welcomes children with special needs and their families to come and enjoy a night of music and fun.

Adopting the motto, “Wiggles Welcome,” this free event encourages children with special needs to be themselves at a concert where parents do not have to worry about typical concert etiquette, organizers said.

The concert is fun for the entire family.

Under the direction of Larry Van Oyen, professor of music, this concert features sing-alongs from SpongeBob SquarePants and Disney, as well as classical pieces and line dance songs such as “YMCA” and “The Chicken Dance.”

Tickets are free and can be reserved online or by calling the box office at (630) 637-SHOW. Guardians will be welcome to take pictures and wheelchair seating is available.

Masks will be required to attend, regardless of vaccination status.

Submitted by Kelly Murphy, Associate Director of Communications, for North Central College.
