Above / Stop! Students on buses are no longer required to wear masks.
The following notices were received late in the afternoon, Fri., Feb. 25. Other similar correspondence will be added as received.
Clarification for March 1, 2022 / District 204’s COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies require self-certification on an annual basis when transmission levels are low. Due to our current transmission level being low, families are not required to self-certify tomorrow, Tuesday, March 1. As a reminder, self-certification does not mean you are saying your child is symptom free for the entire year, but rather that you will monitor your child’s health closely every day and keep them home when they are not feeling well.
Effective Mon., Feb. 28, 2022 / Students are no longer required to wear masks on buses. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has come out with new guidance that no longer requires masks to be worn on buses.
Effective Feb. 28, 2022 / The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is a place of belonging — it’s why the organization continues to put health, wellness, and safety among our top priorities. As the world evolves, so too will perspectives and policies, but not at the expense of a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of Y members, Y staff, and the Y community.
In consultation with infectious disease professionals, the guidance of public health agencies, and analysis of the most current COVID-19 data, beginning Mon., Feb. 28, 2022, proof of vaccinations will no longer be required and masks will be optional for all individuals entering our spaces, unless required by regulatory mandate (e.g. DCFS-licensed and license-exempt programs).
On a journey to create safe environments, the Y encourages members and individuals from all communities served to practice and pursue appropriate safety actions, including vaccinations and wearing masks.

Stay safe and healthy.
