Though snow may still be on the ground, it’s time to think spring and the annual VFW Plant and Flower Sale.
This year marks the 21st year of hosting the VFW Plant Sale, organizers said.
The sale will offer all sorts of annuals available in flats with geraniums, specific specialty plants and grasses, as well as gorgeous hanging baskets.
“Prices are reasonable and the quality of the plants is just excellent!” said Plant Sale Chair Marcy Maughan.
Place orders now through March 31, 2022
The order form is featured on the VFW website at www.NaperVFW3873.org.
Orders must be returned to the VFW (908 W. Jackson Ave., Naperville, IL 60540) by Thurs., March 31, 2022. Pickup day is Fri., May 6, just in time for Mother’s Day on Sun. May 8.
All proceeds from the sale go to enhance the grounds of the VFW and to plug the hole in this year’s budget from the absence of the Fish Fries last year because of the pandemic protocols and this year because of supply chain issues.
“We are having supply chain problems this year which prevent holding the Fish Fries,” Maughan explained. “If you have ever wanted to help the Veterans of Naperville, this is an easy way to do it – and in return you get gorgeous flowers to plant in your yard.”
Simply print out the order form from the website and return it to the VFW by March 31.

Individuals who need a plant sale order form mailed are encouraged to contact Marcy Maughan at (630) 357-3440.
These annuals are grown in the Midwest (West Olive, Michigan) and already are acclimated to the climate here in Naperville, Maughan explained. And with the variety of annuals available, organizers are confident there should be something for everyone.
Again, order forms are now available and orders need to be placed by March 31, 2022. Pickup at the VFW will be hosted on Fri., May 6, 2022.
