Champaign, IL – Busey is honored to be named among America’s Best Banks for 2022, a first-ever recognition for Busey by Forbes. Ranked 52nd overall, First Busey was the top ranked bank headquartered in Illinois. Only three other Illinois-based banks were included on the list.
Forbes has worked with S&P Global Market Intelligence since 2008 on its America’s Best Banks’ ranking, factoring in financial data on the growth, quality and profitability of the 100 largest publicly traded banks and thrifts by assets. The metrics used to make the rankings are based on regulatory filings current through Sept. 30, 2021. While S&P provides the data, the rankings are done by Forbes.
The metrics considered to make this list include non-performing assets as a percentage of total assets; reserves as a percentage of non-performing assets; CET1 ratio, which compares a bank’s capital against its risk-weighted assets; risk-based capital ratio; return on average tangible common equity; return on average assets; net interest margin; operating revenue growth; and net charge-offs as a percentage of total loans.
“Busey is honored to be consistently recognized by national and local organizations for growth, profitability and an engaged culture of integrity,” said Scott Wehrli, Bank Director and Naperville resident. “We are grateful for these accolades from independent parties that showcase Busey’s commitment to communities like Naperville, while also bringing a sense of pride to the associates who are devoted to serving our customers.”
In addition to being among America’s Best Banks, Busey also is honored to be recognized in Illinois and Indiana as a Best Place to Work and in Florida among the Best Companies to Work For. In addition, Busey was recognized as a Best Banks to Work For in the U.S. by American Banker and Busey Wealth Management has been named among Pensions & Investment’s Best Places to Work in Money Management.
