For 2022, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Naperville Area is offering two $5,000 scholarships to women working toward earning their undergraduate degrees.
Since 1971, AAUW Naperville has offered the Angeline Gale Scholarship, with the intent to encourage women to engage in scholarly pursuits, even when their education may have been interrupted for various reasons.
This year, thanks to a generous donor, the group also is offering the L&S Inspirational Leadership Scholarship, the focus of which is to recognize women who have assumed leadership positions within their school and community and have the desire to make meaningful contributions to society, both now and in the future.
All applicants must reside or attend school in DuPage, Will, Kendall, or Kane Counties in Illinois. The scholarships can be awarded to part-time as well as full-time students who are in traditional or accelerated programs and the applicants may already be receiving financial aid.

Update! One more added… AAUW Naperville Area also announces one new $5,000 High School Scholarship for 2022
Due to the generosity of an AAUW Naperville Area member, this year AAUW Naperville Area will offer a $5,000 scholarship for a 2021- 2022 female graduate of either Naperville School District #203 or Indian Prairie School District #204 with a 3.00 or higher GPA who plans to enter the medical field.
The Cariya Reed Legacy scholarship honors Cariya Reed, a 7-year-old girl, whose life ended tragically due to domestic violence before her dreams could be fulfilled. The heroic efforts of the medical personnel involved prompted the designation of this scholarship to be awarded to a young woman whose future includes becoming a medical professional, especially one dedicated to emergency medicine.
Additional information and an application can be found on the AAUW Naperville Area branch website at naperville-il.aauw.net/.
